Ok, so, secretly you would like to amount to something and your head is filled
with bright and sometimes brilliant ideas. The trouble is that you are spending all your time
either stoned on weed (cannabis)or wondering where to get some more and where to get the
money to buy it. You are angry and irritable with those close to you and wish they would
leave you alone. You may have become issolated from pretty much everyone who cares about
you.
Maybe you are now that bit older; you’ve got a job that pays the bills but
just and no more. Deep down you know that you could have done way better than this but your
head doesn’t wake up till close to 2pm after lunch and you have spent the morning feeling
tired and low in energy. You still tell yourself that you could quit cannabis any time you
wanted to and that one day you will make a success of yourself, but inside you are far less
convinced by your rationalisations than you used to be. Cannabis means more to you than you
want to admit.
Being stoned has become a way of life and it has become who you are – your
identity. Some of your old mates moved on a long time ago and they are getting on. You sneer
at them for being boring conformists but really wish you were up there with them. You are
hanging out with the ‘has beens’ and the ‘could have beens’ in the same old haunts and
talking the same old stuff. Cannabis has become your philosophy of life and your quiet,
‘cotton wool jailer’.
I know you hate it and I know you are worth much more, but you are going to
have to admit it before anything will change. If things don’t change by genuinely asking
outside yourself for help, then you face a bleak future. We used to call Cannabis 'dope' in
my days of struggling to break free of my addiction, like being in some dream where I was
trying to run away up melting staircases – must have been because it made us into
‘dopes’.
If you are happy with your situation and you don’t believe that you are stuck
in a cannabis jail; if you think everyone needs to chill out and leave you alone to lead your
own life; if you are irritated with all the fuss people are making, then I am not the man for
you.
However, if you are sick and tired of being stoned and predictable; fed up of
not achieving anything concrete in your life and if you know that people are right to be
concerned for your health and wellbeing, then, I f you are genuine about wanting help to quit
and are willing to put the time and effort in, get in touch and we can see how I might help
you.
